Abstract
The ideological plot of Hölderlin’s Novel Hyperion is viewed as a manifestation of the mythopoetic concept of ‘the Third Kingdom’ – an infl uential metanarrative of the modern era, which still obtains as a postponed meaning of the history of European culture.
