Absract: The article engages itself with Valery Bryusov''s, Yekaterina and Konstantin Balmont''s work at the Pushkin poetic dictionary. It is argued that the two poets had arrived at the very idea of such a dictionary earlier than the famous article by A.I. Urusov came out. The approach to delimitation of contexts and to text excerption was elaborated by the project participants under direction of A.A. Shakhmatov. It is demonstrated that the work in question came to a halt largely because the definitive edition of Pushkin''s works was lacking; as for the main project outcome, it was V.Ya. Bryusov''s article "What Does The Academic Edition of Pushkin''s Work Offer?"
Keywords: the fi rst attempt at Pushkin’s lexicography, letters of Yekaterina Balmont to Valery Bryusov, Aleksei Shakhmatov dependence of lexicography on textual criticism, V. Savodnik, the “Slovar’ Jazyka Pushkina”, V.N. Shchepkin.

Absract: The paper considers the idioms of craziness and madness. It is demonstrated that a metaphor, which internally in forms a phraseological unit, also affects its actual meaning by motivating semantics. At the same time, a model of inner form - that is, a combination of meaningful components common for several metaphors - becomes an instrument for putting the actual meaning in code. Techniques of coding are language-specific. The paper focuses upon major types of inner-form models of the idioms of madness. Inner form can predict the resulting actual meaning only partially.

Absract:

The article dwells on discussions of Symbolism in the French and Russian literatures, which took place in the Studio Franco-Russe (Paris, 1929-1931). The author offers rationale for fundamental divergences between the Russian and the French reception of Symbolism, which sprung from the differences in cultural traditions. He also compares the theoretical statements made by the Studio participants to the Belle epoque Modernist theories, as well as to the present-time scholarly conceptions of the typology of Symbolist literatures.
